I’m trying to see.

A saint of no complaint
Part falconer and plumb line
A being of earth, of the movement
Outside of time. Tied to angles.
Neither of us hold the ability
Nor the will
To bind the stone.
Practicing the bounce, long enough for it to be habit also requires willingness.
Vine lashings remain at the bottom of the sea
Wood lasts forever in dry air.
And the skirmish begins.
The breeze picks its point
its aim is a long bleat from the edge
and from the huddle emerges a forged chariot
How is it that I can see a shape, then remember a smell in a moment, I couldn’t explain if I tried

Working with symbols or signs, the less we know, the better.
Its not to know what a dream means that matters. A wise, high being, passed on that its about how a dream makes you feel, and the questions it brings to light, that are worth holding.
What does it mean to stand alone in a field at dusk? What does it mean to drink cool, clean water from an unknown source? To raise your hands towards the sun?
If we see ourselves as the sum of our interpreted symbols we limit ourselves to the boundaries of our cognition instead of the breadth of our curiosity.
I’m not writing this as if I have it figured out. I’m writing this as a dialogue with myself (and with you if you’d like) so I might somehow softly recall what is possible in some future moment of analysis.
“What does it mean? How does it make me feel? What else is possible?”
I used to play around with this spin on Occams Razor I called Bholenath’s Scalpel. Its mostly a fun game to play but its got its moments when I've really learned something from it.
Simply, Occams Razor is a mathematical (?) principle applied to other fields- you have two competing ideas to explain the same phenomenon, you should prefer the simpler one. The simplest answer is most often, the most likely.
Bholenath’s Scalpel is that there are several ( perhaps infinite) possible explanations to explain some thing or happening. Its a matter of how open you can go.
That can initially be repulsive to LOGICAL parts of us but only because we make it so. Within the space of our mind, as we examine the phenomenon of this ephemeral existence there are times when it is helpful to be direct, decisive. AND there are so many opportunites to loosen our grip, stave off the desire to classify by relishing in the opportunity to explore.
I like applying the Scalpel to social situations, “work” stuff, etc. Its low hanging fruit. But I bring it up in this instance to remind myself to broaden my use of this tool for broadening my perspective.
When I experience something, how open can I be to it? How wide and receptive can I be to it?
I’m not trying to learn.
I’m trying to see.
